The Math Team is back at Sunrise! We have an amazing voluenteer, Boris Gonzales,  is who are creating this unique opportunity for our Sunrise 4th and 5th graders! At this time the math team is open to ONLY 4th and 5th graders.

The students will meet every other week for math instruction in preparation for the Math is Cool and Math Olympiad competitions.

Class is held on Thursday every other week at 4pm-5:30pm in Room 123, with 4th grade starting on Oct. 3rd and 5th grade starting on Oct. 10th.

Class Schedule Until December 2024:

Grade 4: October 3, 17, November 7, December 12

Grade 5: October 10, 24, November 14, December 5

The Math Olympiad competition is 5 monthly contests administered at the Sunrise Library from November through March. The kids will be given 5 programs which must be completed within 30 minutes. 

Math is Cool is a one-day competition that consists of the following sections: Mental Math, Individual Test, Team Multiple Choice and Team Test.

The fee is $60 per student to cover competition fees, study material, snacks, pizza on day of competition, etc.
