The PTA Fall Festival is an after school family event at the Sunrise gym. Admission is free and there are food trucks, cake walk, games, and more.
The Sunrise PTA Art night puts the children's Art Docent creations on display to share with parents, friends, and family members.
The PTA coordinates a Scholastic book fair for the students to purchase new books. Proceeds benefit the library and classrooms.
Sunrise families have the opportunity to showcase their cultural heritage to share with the community.
The children learn dance moves all week in preparation for a special School Dance to enjoy with their families on Friday Night.
Children audition for a spot on the stage to showcase their talents for their peers and their families. Event is free.
Studio East directs a play for interested Sunrise 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. Children rehearse for a month and then perform for the Sunrise community.
Children bring in gently used books to exchange for new titles.
National PTA arts program which encourages children to express themselves through various art mediums and be recognized.
DISASTER & SAFETY
The Sunrise PTA helps manage and stock the school disaster container as well as attends NSPTA council Disaster Preparedness committee meetings for emergency protocols.
The Sunrise PTA organizes many teacher appreciation activities including events throughout all of Teacher Appreciation week.
Many events are hosted throughout the year including school dances, plays, community serve day, picnics and more. These events serve to help students and their families build lasting relationships and memories with friends and neighbors.
The PTA helps the school library staff regular volunteers to help with shelving books, check-in/checkout of library materials, library projects, etc. so that the librarian can focus on her time with the children.
Each recess is staffed by volunteers, coordinated by the PTA, to assist the recess teachers and help maintain safety during recess.
A representative from the Sunrise PTA helps bring the voice of our community to the State legislation and fight for issues that matter to our children the most.
